About this video:
These shutters will instantly improve your home’s curb appeal and they’re ridiculously easy to build. Make them as simple or intricate as you want. Use dimensional lumber from the hardware store and you don’t even need a table saw….just something to cross cut wood to length (miter saw, hand saw, jigsaw, etc).

  1. I like the "functional" look with the hinges, is there any way to stop them from actually swinging ? I'd hate for a really windy day for them to be slamming on my window frames.

  2. I do have a question. I bought cedar for my shutters. My windows are 24 and a forth inch wide. My cedar is 4 inch wide cedar. I didn't take into consideration that they are half a inch shorter. I don't want to ripe these boards, it won't look right. What is your suggestion? These will be working shutters. Help please.

  3. Tommy, how do i mount them to my vinyl siding without screwing them into the studs behind it? I know that i could use vinyl siding clips but how would i attach them to the back of the shutters? Or if you have another idea… Thank you for your time.
