  1. I had the original version of this lathe back in the mid 90's; on the original model, it didn't have the double square tubing that runs underneath the motor housing and the length of the bed, instead it had just a very thin, wide piece of metal. Even so, I turned some nice cannons on it, about a foot long. As the narrator says, I wouldn't try anything on it that approached the total 14 x 40 bed, but smaller stuff would be okay. I plan on buying this upgraded version soon…..

  2. This is far the worse lathe on the internet! I have had it for year and a half and it has cost me so many headaches. The only thing I turn is rings and bangles. Don't buy it!

  3. Impossible to find that adapter on eBay, amazon or aliexpress. I cannot do much without it, since the diameter is not standard. Does anybody know where to get one now?

  4. This lathe is far better quality>>>t.co/mopvyyNEKW Β  than I anticipated. Solid heavy and runs as smooth as a DC politician in an election year. I was surprised as the lathe arrived well packaged and about a week earlier than the estimated delivery date. I like the fact it doesn't run full speed at startup, but rather slowly gains speed after turning it on. This is definitely a safety feature appreciated by any lathe users that have had an off centered piece of stock.

  5. I've turned a ton with it now… I bought a nice nova chuck for it and started using carbide tools since.. Works great for everything but really heave wet wood bowl blanks ..anything under 10 inches works great

  6. LMAO HAHAHHAHAHAH. are you fucking kidding me.. Extremely close head and tail stock?????.. That's SOOO OFF. how in the hell would anyone get any precision with that crap.

  7. The reason the piece stops is that the spur is a single point instead of 2-3 which is standard on a good lathe. The piece should never be able to be stopped by the tool.

  8. Its nice informative video thank u very much , but u forgot to show how to change the speed of the lathe

  9. Hmm Stark, rhymes with Clarke. πŸ™„ if the lathe came with cutting tools, they would probably not cut very well if at all.

  10. Hi there, I have this lathe and cannot find any instructions as to how to remove the headstock to fasten/drill it to the log i want to transform into a bowl

  11. Can I just say, good attempt for a first time with a Lathe, but may I just add, that the tools are chisels, not scrapers, so as such the angle for the cut should be lower, not at 90 degrees to the work, the second too that you used was a parting tool, so is used on edge, and is a scraper, the third tool is a sque chisel, I wont even try to explain that one in text, but you tube will give some good teaching, as the use of one is a skill all on its own, the last tool that you used is for bowl turning mainly, but good attempt, of and out of the box they will most probable need sharpening (again you tube for tutorials as that is another are of skill on its own)

other than that, enjoy your new toy πŸ™‚

  12. You tell it like it is and I like your dry sense of humour. Time will tell whether the lathe is value for money. I don't like the look of that crack in the casting though. Keep the videos coming, very enjoyable.
