Check out the Onefinity CNC Machine Here:
https://www.onefinitycnc.com

This is a custom threaded wasteboard for hobby CNC machines. This was specifically designed for the Shapeoko 3 XXL. The file can easily be changed to your specific machines needs. This is the key component of all my files. The cam clamps, L clamps, and full fence all easily attach to this with just a few bolts.
This video will walk you through how to create, cut, and install the threaded wasteboard.

  2. You are a nerd, but in a good way.

I brought a Shapeoko XXL on last October with router included and now I have my doubts about keep it or not. I'm just starting this CNC road and the only videos I saw that have sense and easy to follow with less frustration were yours. Kind have a lost feeling now…lol.

  3. hello, interesting machine, please tell me … the guides at the machine are the shafts or chrome-plated pipes for the Linear bearing LM …. LUU?

  4. Great content, My Onefinity will be coming in a couple months, I already have most everything for the setup and this enclosure is a must for my application like all of us.
Question on why the Spindle is not being used now?
    Keep up the fantastic work.

  5. Couldn't you have welded the panels back together with acitone. Butt joints would not be as strong as new but these would not be load bearing panels.

  6. Hey, I just wanted to thank you for this. My onefinity has been sitting in it's box for a couple months now as i try to rack my head around constructing something sturdy enough for it. As soon as i finish up my voron v2.4 build, ill be starting on this. Hopefully raw material prices drop down a bit by then. Wishful thinking, I know.

  7. Love your videos.. You've made me change my dream machine from shapeoko to the onefinity. You always remind me a bit of Agent Colson from Agents of Shield.. Just a bit..

  8. Good job. Sucks you had to start over. I have to ask, why didn't you just cnc cut the plastic to fit the top? Don't you know anyone with a cnc router? 🙂

  9. Great Video, thanks for sharing. Placed my Onefinity order just this week. Do you suppose your original design would have worked if you had used those outside angle brackets that you ended up using for the door? I really like the look of the glass inside of the extrusion. Seems cleaner.

  10. Ok I'm sure it was in here and I missed it but what was your overall interior dimensions once completed? I built a copy of your $100 mobile workbench except I went 48" x 60" and am planning on building an enclosure out of 2×4 and 3/4 plywood because I have a bunch of scrap pieces laying around of both and want to make sure I have enough clearance for my machine thats coming next month. Thanks your videos have been extremely helpful and actually got me to buy the Onefinity though I know nothing about cnc machines

  11. Great job Ben! When I was working we made all of our machine equipment with the 8020 and I had thought about doing the same thing you did for my Axiom CNC. What was the tablet that you had mounted on top? I am running an iPad and would like to know if that was compatible. Also I’m going to have to calculate see how much I need to save for an enclosure.

  12. Came out nice. I wouldn't stress about the gaps in plexi letting out noise, as plexi is no good at any real sound reduction anyway (it's a great sound transmitter instead). It's great for letting in light and keeping the chips out of the rest of your workshop, though.

  13. I prefer the nuts you can rotate into place. They cost a little more, but you don't have to worry about having them all in place before you assemble. It also enables adding more supports later should it be needed.

BTW, your mic peaks/clips a lot. You should turn down the gain in whatever you have the receiver plugged into and then just level the audio in your video editor.

  14. It’s the weirdest thing! I bought your file last year and it worked great, go to make a mew board this year and when I run the program it cuts the t nut holes on the outside and then do ant drill the through holes center?!

  15. just got my shapeoko 3 xl, and i am very new to this, i've got your file for the xl and i am wondering if there is any reason why i cant use a 1/2 inch thick piece of MDF and just change my board thickness in the set up to .50? any reason this would not work? your video's are very informative, and look forward to watching them all

  16. It’s you cool have this available. My xxl should be here in a day or two. I was looking forward to making that program myself. Just wondering, is it that hard to make the file. Thx
    Edit:
After receiving my XXL I had a faulty part. Shapeoko was great helping me I’m up at 2:30 am to make this waste board before work. You are a lifesaver Thank you much.

  17. Him Ben, I'm using 9mm threaded inserts on my board as I have alot of these on hand. My question relates to the layout of the wasteboard in Vetric (I happen to be using VCarve Pro 10.5). Is there a method to sellect all of the smaller holes, as an array, to do a simple hole size change without having to select them all one by one? Also, I would like to change the outer circle cut and simply change tools with a chamfer bit for my the tapered end on the inserts I'm using. I downloaded your templates for the Wasteboard, cam clamps, and fence. Thanks for all you do. Your efforts, guidance and expertise helped to convice me to move forward with the CNC. Best to you.

  18. Surely you are going to surface the waste board, your holes would of been fine. And wouldn't of had to re drill all those holes

  19. I would like to know what additional items to order when i order the main machine. This will be my first venture with a CNC machine. I have been doing woodworking for quite a while Thank You Steve

  20. Hmm, just ran the first larger pocket operation and the depth is all over the place. Then I came to realize that my mdf is varying thickness, thinner near the factory edge. It's late now, but I think I'll need to surface this and do the pockets over again tomorrow, then surface the other side still =|

    Edit: typo

  21. The link for the T nuts you used is no longer for sale. Do you have another link for T nuts you know work for this?

  22. Carbide Create seems to have the same "Traveling Salesman" feature as Easel, dancing all over the place for what would appear to be straight sequential curse. Or is it more sensitive to the order objects wee added to the toolpath?
Nicely made project though, you didn't have any problems hammering the T-Nuts without a pilot hole in MDF?

  23. Hello sir, i have a shapeoko xxl and followed all your directions. did not touch or change anything and the circles came out ok but the plunging of holes was off to middle right corner edge of of circle and also your plunge is going side to side and mine is going top to bottom. i stopped it once i realized 1st hole was way off but noticed the up n down is not the same as your side to side. Not sure what to do now smh. but will search online for a possible fix

  24. Most MDF, like most commercial grade sheet goods sold around the world, are dimensioned according to the metric system, you know that system we were supposed to adopt in the 1970s. So, you can expect that your three-quarter inch thick MDF is not actually three-quarters thick it is closely dimensioned to a metric nominal equivalent. This is just one of the reasons why I would recommend not assuming anything, especially not assuming things are not level or square or not aligned, even more so because it's not that hard to check to see if things are level or square or proper thickness all the way across the workpiece.

  25. Just made this wasteboard today and it was super easy to cut, especially for a first timer. One question though… once you hammer in those t nuts, do you then flip over the wasteboard entirely? I say this because before I run my wasteboard flattening, wouldn’t it hit those t nuts if I don’t flip it over? Sorry for the question. Thanks!

  26. Would you buy a shapeoko again ? I have one in the cart at my local distributor but I'm nervous about pulling the trigger 😬
