What better use for a pallet than to make a pallet! In this case I made four drink coasters. Fun project you could make with any scrap wood.More on this project and free plans: http://woodworkingformeremortals.com/pallet-drink-coasters/

  1. Great idea just found you this wknd, whilst staying in my caravan, currently attending woodwork show here in England so very timely, keep'em coming 👍👍

  2. Hey! @Steve Ramsey I just found out that there is a store in Stockholm Sweden that started selling these pallet coasters!
They must have seen your video and gotten inspired.

  3. How long does it take to make these? If you sell your work by you're labor these might be top end. That being said, this is cool as hell

  4. Finally got around to needing a mirror finish and watching these videos… wow it’s fun to see how things change from your current videos! Looks great Steve, thanks for getting me into woodworking and keeping things educational and entertaining.

  5. I am from your future. I went back in time to 2008 to watch your 7 chess board videos. I might watch them again when I have more skills to take on a project like this. Nice work.

  6. I've been watching your videos for years, but just today went back to check out the first video (All 7 Parts). You hand out encouragement like it is free candy at the store. I started out with a scroll saw, then I found your channel, and wanted to expand upon, just cutting out designs. My next project is your rolling wood cart. I'm excited to try my hand at that. And as always, but must have missed it in this episode. Nice Mystery Spot bumper sticker. Cheers!

  7. Just finished watching and Wow! just Wow you really are an inspiration to us mere mortals with an interest in woodworking Thanks Steve (and Wyatt)

  8. Steve, I've been watching each video as they came out for the last several years and I thought it was time to go back to the beginning. The chess board series is as great as if you made it today. Well, I have a few hundred more to watch in series, so I'll see you along the trail. Your stuff is great Steve!

  9. Great set of videos, thank you and Wyatt for taking the time to share your skill. I’m in the process of making a similar board and am excited to create a similar finish.

  10. So refreshing to watch these older videos long before the enthusiasm and passion dimmed from the churn of the making big youtube bucks. Camera work obviously wasn't as refined back then. It's been a wild ride. Enjoy your retirement.

  11. Just went through all the seven parts back-to-back and you are truely inspiring. I wish I had the space to put all the tools needed to woodwork and take up beautiful projects like this. But someday I will and will share it with you. Thank you for sharing. Love your videos.

  12. It was great watching this again! Was waiting for your Woodworking day51 post. Had watched it back shortly after you posted it and I’ve been following your endeavors ever since. This was an incredible build. Whatever happened to the chessboard? Going to rewatch your chess pieces build right after I check out the Oops the air compressor didn’t fit!🤭👋🏾

  13. Watched all 7. Love it. I see you have improved your safety since making this video. Awesome project. I learned a lot. Thanks for sharing.

  14. Yes Steve, I sat and watched all the videos in a single sitting. You certainly have far better equipment than I have in my shed. I am envious!

  15. I've been following you for sometime but I've not seen the any of the time warped videos back to 2008…LOL. Could you give me more product details on the powder / pumice compounds you used? That was a fantastic finish.

My daughter asked me to make her a chess board.

    Keep up the great work!!

  16. I'm Steven. Mitsuko is my wife…no idea how her name got on here….. #1 job you've done. Such attention to detail. I'm inspired and so impressed …over the years, I've watched this about 6 times all the way through. (Never learned to like the music but….) Thank you. Now I've got a son who is getting heavy into chess so will be working on this for him.
