Kreg Jig Portable Workstation

The Kreg Jig is mounted to a small board which nests in the workstation. This workstation gives support to your wood as you work. It contains five storage compartments behind three sliding doors. These compartment store screws, bits, drills, clamps, and the jig itself. It can also house the Kreg Jig Master kit case nicely. The brace for the dust collection adapter is dovetailed in so it to can be removed and stored within. T-rails can be added to help with other accesories such as stops.

  1. my only suggestion would be to cut it in half and attach with piano hinges. that way you could fold it up and put a handle on it to carry with one hand. but awesome job.

  2. Philip  Thank you for this video. You have given me some good ideas.  The dust collection is great.  If you are going to do more videos, I suggest you invest in a tripod.
My old Sony video camera from 2000 has a remote that works the camera from a tripod.

  3. Philip – Did you (or anyone else who'd mentioned it) integrate this into your mitre saw table? Sounds interesting, combining tools (I'm working out of a shared garage) but I can't picture what you mean. Unless… it's like this setup, only deeper and fashioned around your mitre table… which would make me really dumb for asking. lol.

  4. Hi, love this! I was trying to download the plan on 3D warehouse to build, but I couldn't download the .skp file. You don't happen to have a pdf file to share? THank you! It's an excellent design!

  5. I'm a carpenter/woodworker and can appreciate the fact that a well thought out, portable bench can go along ways towards supporting your work. The bottom line is increased speed and accuracy. I love your concept and will design it into my miter saw bench. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

  6. That is a great idea! I am about to build a miter saw/ lumber storage bench myself. I definitely will be incorporating my Kreg jig into it just as you described. Thanks for sharing.

  7. Gives me an idea. When I re-build my miter saw bench I'll incorporate my Kreg jig in to the front of the bench as you did. The miter saw station will be wide enough that I can do that and it will have space beneath the bench top for part/tool storage. Thanks!

  8. I understand that it is a considerable size, but as the video shows the Kreg Jig is not permanently fixed to the workstation and remains just as portable as it was when it came out of the box. I just finished my kitchen cabinets and I designed and built this to support the longer and heavy base cabinet parts. This tool was the best set of helping hands I had through out that project.

  9. Is this just another video about : How to take a perfectly portable solution and make so bulky it becomes fix ????

  10. Harbor Frieght makes garbage products and only comes from China where they use slave labor.
    Boycott china!

  11. That thing should come with a piece of sandpaper to break the sharp edges. I bought one and took it back it had such shit quality. I'll stick to the table saw jigs.

  12. Clearly, one of the best how-to videos on You Tube today. Plus you didn't waste time showing it being unboxed. Great Job !

  13. Great information… my first cuts on test boards were horrific… and the guide doesn't have room for more than 4 1/2 inches, so if the router base calls for 4 5/8 on the measurement table you showed from a different user guide than the cut will be impossible? Any suggestions?

  14. Check the hold down clamp I automatically switched mine only to find out it came correct.
Did you de-burr your pin plate? Mines pretty rough nothing a file and some sand paper can’t handle just wondered if it effected your cuts.

  15. you all know the handle screws into place from both sides. no having to disassemble the top plate. if it is locking down forward and not to the rear simply unscrew and screw in the other side. it is not meant to be ready out of the box, if it was, there would be much more packaging needed to compensate for the top plate tension rod. just saying. good video otherwise.
