Incra LS Positioner Unboxing.

Hello this is part 1 of a 4 part series on the Incra LS Fence system.

In part we unbox the various parts of the Incra LS Wonder Fence system and get ourselves ready for the install.

The intent is to create a portable and highly accurate fence system that can be used across my Festool MFT and Festool CMS systems. On the MFT I am looking to create a system that will allow me to make cross cuts for 0.5mm upwards and rip cuts that are limited by the number of MFT’s I have bolted together, in my case two.

On the CMS table I want to replace the Festool fence and open up a world of box joints, dovetails and double dovetails.

In part 1 we will unbox and look at the parts
In part 2 we will set the fence up using the Festool Crown stop as a portable fixing clamp
In part 3 we will put it through its paces on the Festool MFT
In part 4 we will put it through its paces on the Festool CMS

This was the vise series that convinced me to invest in the Incra LS

  1. Great videos! I recently bought a router table with router and the Incra LS Ultra used for very little and this is tremendously helpful. The whole system with all of the templates is a little daunting without visual aids and straightforward explanations!

  2. 0.05mm is impressive but will there not be more inconsistent lateral movement on the blade than that, making that level of accuracy redundant in practical terms?

  3. Hi All, I had a comment asking how much this was – but the comment seems to have vanished.

This full kit came in at £599.95 I got it from Rutlands. http://www.rutlands.co.uk Always great service.

I know that seems expensive for a fence – but seriously think of it as a jointing system.

The Leigh jig with the various accessories in the kit (excluding the templates) I was going to buy came in at £679.50 If I buy the other templates that would add a further £500 + so by comparison it’s not a bad price.

I am sure you will have a different view 🙂

  4. It's like getting a meccano set for Christmas.

Can't wait to see the end results of this because like you I thought the Leigh Jig was the Daddy for routered dovetails.
